Etnies was founded by pro skateboarder Pierre-Andre Senizergues and have been a leading figure in the skateboarding and now the casual footwear market. To at the forefront is not an easy feat but with a new PAS Collection titled Sixth Element, Etnies have expanded into a new forum less traveled. The Sixth Element have just dropped at Beam’s store in Tokyo so get down to the shop before these become history.
This collection celebrates the ever growing family of skateboarders who are turning to fatherhood and allows for a creation of a special bond between father and son. A new concept to launch 3 adult styles packaged with complimentary 3 toddler styles that all tell a story about the various stages Pierre-Andre has encountered in life.
Revolution is a model that combines the French and American heritage by using the recognizable red, white and blue colors. Refection is the second stage that puts a focus on the son’s skateboarding future that reflects the father’s past. And lastly the Evolution depicts the father’s skateboarding life with the aged leather against the soft nubuck material representing a fresh outlook of the son.

Last year some surprising photos leaked onto the ‘Net of Freeway and former Bad Boy Loon wearing traditional Muslim garb on their trip to Saudi Arabia. While Free is known for being a devout follower of the religion, many fans were shocked to learn that the Harlem MC had switched faiths.
XXLMag.com recently spoke with Philly Freezer about his visit to the Middle Eastern country and Loon’s newfound dedication to Islam.
“Last year, the middle of the year, I got a chance to visit Saudi Arabia for a second time,” he told XXL. “Brother Jakk Frost was with me, brother Loon, now known as Ahmir, and it just was a beautiful experience. At the time [Loon] was seven months into the religion, he was a fresh Muslim. And from that time to now, he progressed so much, he’s moving forward so quickly and I’m proud of him.” [Watch below]
The former State Property rapper urged his fans to fly to the country if they ever get the opportunity. “The country is beautiful, the people was beautiful, the mannerism of the people,” he expressed. “It’s just real enlightening and if any of y’all get a chance to go over there you should definitely do it.”

With Kurupt's Street Lights dropping within the next month or so, we can expect more advanced cuts/leaks as the weeks pass until its release. "All In Time," one of the album's singles, is the latest. The track relies on a slow-moving horns loop and steady beat while the Dogg Pound member spits so-so bars. He's also joined by an equally average hook/vocals loop by Joyluv Glaze. This isn't what I'd necessary call a failed attempt at a single, but it sounds terribly stuck in the mid-to-late '90s.
You can stream "All In Time" at 2DopeBoyz, where a link to the track's video also appears.

Their album The Chain of Command is in stores as of today. Cop it on UndergroundHipHop, Amazon, FYE or BestBuy.

Everyone, it seems, has his or her own theory of where the N.B.A.’s biggest young star will end up after free agency this summer. Out here on the east coast in the USA, we hear jaded Knicks fans talk as if he already had the blue and orange on (or the red, white, and blue for Nets fans), while others suggest he could be headed to a number of other places. This Nike LeBron James VII is dedicated to the slew of rumors that have surrounded James’ supposed destinations after the off season: the New York Knicks, the New Jersey Nets, the CSKA Moscow, and even (in reference to a Nike commercial) the Cleveland Browns. After this year’s playoff run, let’s see where the games preeminent star lands. The shoes, however, need no such wait, as they are available now at Dunk.

Above is the official Roger That music video behind the scenes video. As you may have already seen from the pictures (click here), there are a lot of crazy outfits in this video. It looks like Lil Wayne, Tyga, Nicki Minaj and the rest of Young Money had a real fun time shooting the Roger That music video. Shout outs to the homie Derick G of course! Anyone who pays attention to popular music has probably noticed that out of all the mainstream genres, modern rock is probably the least interesting. That's a realization that leads one to wonder, "Who is listening to this stuff, anyway?" Ex-Idolator Maura Johnston, after being tipped off by exotic dancer Bubbles Burbujas, who runs the site Stripper Tweets, suggested that the fact that bands like Shinedown, Buckcherry, Hinder, and Nickelback get tons of play in strip clubs might be an important part of their longevity. Sure, it's a stretch, but the entire conversation is pretty interesting.
Oh, and for anyone out there who's been waiting to hear "My Girls" or "While You Wait for the Others" at the club: According to Burbujas, it's not likely to happen. Even if you ask for the Michael McDonald version of the latter.
A fire today has closed the Manhattan Criminal Court building for the remainder of the day. The spark was started in the basement of the facility with smoke traveling to the lobby. Famed rapper Lil Wayne was scheduled to report there in order to begin his year long jail sentence later today. They don’t call him the Fireman for nothin’.
Found at RR, this is craziness! Weezy is probably sick of waiting to go in at this point I’m guessing.
Update: DJ Scoob Doo tweeted the photo below saying Lil Wayne is going to court tomorrow because of the fire. Right now Weezy is headed to the studio!
Update 2: DJ Scoob Doo tweets: “Gotta record 3 songs. Mike Jackson,Shanell,& justin beiber” Looks like Lil Wayne is recording more music with a Justin Bieber collaboration, a Shanell song, and perhaps a Michael Jackson song remix for a mixtape? I’m not sure, leave your thoughts in the comments below.

I'm fairly certain it's well established that the Roots are the best live hip-hop act. Beyond their ability to emulate other rappers' songs and keeping the crowd engaged, they impress with an immense knack for showmanship and onstage timing. And at this year's Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the Philly crew played a three-song medley that included favorites "Thought @ Work" and "Here I Come," the former being a chance for MC Black Thought to showcase his absurd breath control. The third song was the title-track off their upcoming How I Got Over LP, which is slated for release later this year. While "How I Got Over" takes on a much more somber tone in the studio version, it hits James Brown levels of funkiness when performed live. Here's hoping we get a live version when the LP finally drops.
6 years ago, The College Dropout released and changed many of our lives forever. I will never forget listening to Spaceship in the backroom of Footaction thinking damn I wanna punch my manager. I remember listening to all the songs on that album and I remember how it pushed me to get out my dream. With this t-shirt, Corporate pays homage to the album that Entertainment Weekly proclaimed the Best Album of the Decade! We will be releasing it Friday at Midnight. Oh and you know I won't take anything away from the original art or intentions, so we will be donating a portion of the proceeds from each sale to the Donda West Foundation.
The House is back with that classic flavor for ya ears: THE REAL SH*T is a 2-disc exploration of that Michael Watts (5000 to be exact) Swishahouse sh*t. Straight funk from front to back, this 2-CD set features two discs with two dozen tracks -- one Regular Speed version + one Swishahouse Remix/Chopped & Screwed version.
Leak off an unofficial Game mixtape titled America’s Most Wanted.

People need to understand that when you make a video, you’re making an image, an image that you want to use to sell your music. - Joy Daily, who possesses a certain flair for the obvious
I thought Wale would be the hipster rapper who beat the odds, not so much in the sense that he would have a successful career, but in the sense that, rather than his career imploding all of a sudden, in a ridonkulous, embarrassing PR clusterfuck, like his fellow XXL Freshman 10 Asher Roth and Charles Hamilton, it would just kinda gradually fade away over time, due to lack of interest. Clearly, I was mistaken.
The other day, I was reading a post on one of these angry black women blogs about John Mayer, and it mentioned a controversy having to do with Wale. I didn’t even realize there was a controversy having to do with Wale, but apparently Wale made the mistake of releasing a video, for the song “Pretty Girls,” without enough dark skinted black women in it. You’ll recall that there was a similar problem last year with Drake’s “Best I Ever Had,” i.e. the best video evar. So I cued up the new Wale video, expecting to spend with it the same kind of quality time I spent with the Drake video, but come to find out there were a few dark skinted chicks in it. There was even a fat chick. I think the issue had less to do with the exclusion of dark skinted black chicks than the fact that he would even include any light skinted women in it. I went over the video a few times, just in case, but I don’t recall seeing any white women. There was one broad who kinda looked like St. Vincent, but she looked like she might be halfrican American. At any rate, angry black women are none too pleased. There’s even talk of a boycott. As if.
Up until this point, the closest there had been to a controversy involving Wale was the fact that he’s not really from the ghetto. He’d given this interview to the Smoking Section in which he talked about how awful an area he was from. My boy Shabooty, who went to high school with him, read it and had to call BS. I consulted the Google re: the high school they went to, and the first thing that came up was a picture of eight to ten white chicks who looked like they’d been sprung from the depths of my subconscious. I wish I’d saved it for posterity, both for the sake of journalism and for… my own personal amusement. I checked just now, and I see it’s been replaced by a picture of the school covered with snow. As if we don’t know DC has been inundated with snow. Maybe they’ll put it back once the weather gets nicer. (I probably shouldn’t email the principal about this, should I?)
To his credit, I think the question they asked him was something along the lines of, “What was the ghetto you’re from like?” Not, “Are you from the ghetto?” or “How was your upbringing?” The Smoking Section is run by liberal, well-meaning white people who assume that all black people - even if they’re African, which isn’t black per se - are born and raised in awful ghettos. How was Wale supposed to respond? If there’s one thing that the failure of Attention Deficit has taught us, it’s that Wale is a people pleaser: he finds out who the lowest common denominator wants him to be, and he tries as best he can to become that.
Which brings us to his current predicament.
Interscope probably would have dropped Wale like a bad habit, after Attention Deficit did Little Brother numbers, if it wasn’t for his ability to follow orders. Those songs he did with Gucci Mane and Lady Gaga just made him look desperate, but who knows? One of these days they might finally trick people into liking him. Lil Wayne was around for like 10 years before hip-hop reached a point where he could be considered one of the best artists. So, the TIs decided to double down on Wale. But this time, instead of focusing on hipsters, who are known for not liking things created specifically for them, they decided to focus on black women. You can probably see where this is headed…
I knew something was up a few weeks ago, when I saw that Wale was writing a relationships column for Necole Bitchie. Obviously, this wasn’t a matter of Wale realizing he was a veritable fount of relationship advice, and deciding to share it with the women who read Necole Bitchie, who I’m sure could use it. As a guy, you pretty much don’t want your name to be mentioned anywhere on Necole Bitchie, let alone to be on staff there. Plus, I’ve heard rumors of Necole Bitchie being contracted by major labels to act as a beard for suspect artists. I wasn’t sure if I should believe it, or if she just happened to be good friends with Trey Songz, but once I saw she’d given a platform to Wale, of all people, it all started making sense. She must be the ones the TIs call when they’ve got a black male artist with an image problem. I’m not hating, mind you. I’m just jealous. I want to be the one the TIs call when they realize it’s easier to get Amanda Bynes a black boyfriend than to keep her on a treadmill. Fuck a Kid Cudi. He’s probably not even straight. No homo.
